2 Timothy 2:8
8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David—that is my gospel,

Read 2 Timothy chapter 2 when you get the opportunity. Today is the Lord ’s Day. It’s a day we remember; we keep the festival of the resurrection story; we tell the story of Jesus to each other and share in bread and wine at the table prepared before us in the presence of our enemies. That’s right, in the presence of all the forces that rage against God and us as His people; we keep the Feast of Remembrance. We Remember Jesus, His life, His death and His resurrection in the midst of our troubles. .  Trouble is not a reason to stay away but the reason to draw closer and experience the lavishness of the Grace of God. God lavishly loves us and gave His Son for us. Paul writing to his friend and fellow pastor is asking Timothy if he remembers this good news. Timothy is in the midst of trouble and Paul his friend reminds him that in the most difficult moments of life the good news remains; ‘Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David—that is my gospel….’ Paul lived out this truth right through to his own martyrdom.  May it be our Truth, our Good News also..
